So, we have a new little royal princess. We are thrilled for William and Kate, and it brought back memories of when we gave birth to our own little princesses!
It got us to thinking, we were given some fantastic presents by our wonderful friends, but it’s always hard to know what to give to a new arrival. So we thought we’d put together some of our favourite baby gift ideas from across the web.
1. Bamboo romper suit, £25, Bubba Bambu.
This gorgeous romper is made of 95% bamboo, which is incredibly soft, organic, temperature regulating, hypoallergenic and a whole heap of other benefits. Bubba Bambu is a newly launched company, set up by two friends wanting to bring the benefits of bamboo to the UK masses! We are already sold.
2. Wooden bird baby rattle, £8.95, Oates & Co.
This beautiful little rattle is not only cute and colourful and guaranteed to keep little hands busy, but it is also made from eco-friendly sustainable rubber wood. It is also chemical free, organic and non-toxic, so there is no need to worry when it inevitably gets chewed and sucked on!
3. Large bamboo swaddling blankets, £38.95 for three, Aden + Anais.
Bamboo is a bit of a theme here, but it really is the most luxuriously soft material. These large cloths are so versatile too – they can be used to cover a changing mat, as a sun shield on a pram or car seat, as a breast feeding modesty blanket, or as a very generous muslin.
4. Wooden woodland animals mobile, £17.50, notonthehighstreet.
These charming little creatures are bound to lull any little princess off to sleep – or amuse her long enough in her cot for mummy to squeeze in a quick loo break! We always think that wooden gifts are timeless classics.
5. Bamboo plate, bowl, cup & spoon set, £23, Oates & Co.
Here’s our favourite material again! This gorgeous little handcrafted dinner set in its beautiful bright colours is as resilient as melamine or plastic, but is better for the environment and better for little ones, too.
If you check out the websites offering these lovely gifts, you’ll find that there are also equivalents for any little princes that have come into your life.
Congratulations to the new parents!
