I noticed to my dismay that my heating came on yesterday for the first time in months. The sun worshipper in me hopes that this is just a temporary stint of cold weather and we will have a nice late summer boost, but then there’s another part of me that is looking forward to cracking out the knitwear!
One of the things I love about Autumn is cosying up with a massive, soft throw on the sofa with Mr Oates and mini Oates, and also buying myself a new wooly scarf, hat and gloves (yes, every single year!). I just love getting cosy.
So, I thought I’d pull together some of my top cosy picks for autumn/winter 2015. This week I’ve featured my favourite warming homewares, and next week I’ll share some gorgeous autumn/winter clothing.
Tacna Alpaca Blanket, £109, Urbanara.
Made from 50% alpaca and 50% wool, this blanket is super soft. We love that it is ultra simple but ultra chic; it would add a stylish touch to any room.
Moss stitch cushion, £29.95, Oates & Co.
We love the chunky knit of these soft cotton cushions, and the slate grey colour is oh-so-versatile. We like to change up our decor regularly and find that if you buy a few staples such as these neutral cushions, you can then just buy a few different accent cushions to transform your look.
Faux Fur Comforter, £135, Wild + Wood.
Perfect for those colder autumn and winter evenings, we can see ourselves sinking deep into this luxurious comforter. Bring on the mulled wine!
Combination rug, £522, Linie Designs at Atomic Interiors.
Grey and yellow is a classic colour combination, and we particularly like the subtle way this soft and luxurious rug transitions through the colours from one end to the other.
Beige velvet cushion, £19.99, Zara Home.
Velvet always reminds us of autumn, and this lovely hue is almost golden, like some of the leaves we’re seeing out there at the moment.
Pembrooke Bedspread in Charcoal, £120, The White Company.
This lovely thick cable knit bedspread will bring chunky texture and welcome warmth to your bed. We love to layer our bedspreads up with other plain, thin blankets in similar shades, or simple white.
Fireside log basket, £65, Oates & Co.
Nothing gets a room cosier than a roaring fire, and if you have one you’ll need a beautiful and practical log basket to sit alongside it. This one is made of rattan and features two practical handles.
